My Three Aunties
Sunday was a day for family, as we drove back home for a family reunion on my dad's side. My mom had planned to attend, but when the day came, she wasn't feeling up to it. My dad was there, but not for as long as usual. He ate quickly, loaded up a plate for Mom, and left before I could get many photos with him in.
Late in the afternoon, a bunch of us kids walked up to the falls on Lost Creek, which was fun. And we came across a gorgeous four-foot snake, possibly a rat snake. Oh, you should have heard my little sister scream! Those of us with cameras gathered close to take pictures. It was awesome. Seriously.
When we got back to the camp, it was time for the meal, and I will admit I was the first one to snag a deviled egg. (And don't get me started on my Aunt Dorothy's awesome cauliflower and broccoli salad!) Everything I had was very tasty.
And then I took a few more pictures before we left - above you may see three of my aunties. All three are in their *mumble-mumble* eighties and nineties. From left to right, here are Aunt Betty, Aunt Ella Mae, and Aunt Dorothy, looking pretty as a picture! Hooray for family!
My soundtrack song is a tune about going home: Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles, with Who Says You Can't Go Home.
