the force is strong in this one

This afternoon mum, dad and I took our Star Wars blue-ray box set to Auntie Anne and Uncle Ed's so Orla could have her first instalment. we watched Episode IV but Mum said it depends on how you look at it if it's episode IV or the first one......I'm confused.
