Sweeping
I took this in the evening and didn't have time to post until now.
I know what I'm looking at but describing the southwest monsoon is challenging so let me provide you this easy University of Arizona explanation. It's easier to read than having me write it out. I find it fascinating. (For more technical information, try this link .)
One thing seen a lot, as in the photo, are patches of rain falling in the distance. It's very cool to watch while I'm driving south/home from Tucson.
This night the mountains became obscured but between black patches and two separate layers of clouds above the mountains sections of falling and blowing rain could be seen. I was trying to shoot lightening, but alas, my trigger finger was just a nanosecond too slow. Later the storm hit us. It unnerved my mom but I was secretly doing a happy dance.
At the moment (Monday, 3:00 pm) the actual temperature is 107°/42° and the dew point is 65° (dew point v humidity video) so the "feel like" temperature is 111°/44°. I had to take a cold shower when I got home. It's not a dry heat during monsoon season and with any luck it will rain again tonight.

One day,John bumped into an old friend of his, Rob, from high school. “You look great John, how do you stay looking so young? Why you must be 60 already but you don’t look a day over 40!”
Rob exclaimed. “I feel like I’m 40 too!” replied John.
“That’s incredible” exclaimed Rob, “Does it run in the family? How old was your dad when he passed?”
“Did I say he was dead?” asked John. “He’s 81 and is more active then ever. He just joined the neighborhood basketball team!”
“Whoa! Well how old was your Grandfather when he died?”
“Did I say he died” asked John. Rob was amazed. “He just had his 105th birthday and plays golf and goes swimming each day! He’s actually getting married this week!”
“Getting married?!” Rob asked. If he’s 105, why on earth does he want to get married?! John looked at Rob and replied, “Did I say he wanted to?
