It's not nearly as pointless as debating how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. No, it's much more serious; it's nail art. +2/3 got a set of nail pens for Christmas with the most minute needle droppers to allow tiny patterns to be made on each nail. All I can say is +1/2 had very steady hands!

Hogmanay is here again which for us means a quiet night in. Not that we have anything against parties (bah humbug!), more the enforced partying (it's New Year's Eve... YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME!) plus a very late night and young children don't mix well. The main problem then is avoiding anything broadcast on Scottish TV in the run up to the bells. It's awful, all of it.

It's been some year. It's been bad in places, great in others and on balance pretty good. The high points for me have been mainly personal and I hope 2013 brings more of the same.

Now, if you'll excuse me it's time to break open some bubbly, grab +1/2 and settle down for the run into the bells.
