It wasn't until the fifth gritbin that I realised that the important fact wasn't that all but the fifth had a large pile of grit in front of them in the way of the path, nor that this was because all of them had been tipped forwards by (probably) miscreant neds but merely that they were there at all, though this is probably technically a bad thing as it'll mean that then the path next freezes that the council will just perform the electrical equivalent of waving vaguely at them whilst people complain about the importance of the NEPN as a commuter route and that it should be properly swept and gritted.
