Tour de Goodwood

Tonight I'm entering my 3rd ever bike race which takes place round the Goodwood motor circuit.

50 mins + a lap

I'm in the so called lowest category, cat 4 but that doesn't mean easy... All the riders are proper fit racers.

We exceed 25mph / 40kph over the race... Cruising by Tour de France standards.

Each race is a learning curve of position / tactics and effort. I can stay in the pack but I'm trying to master the last lap which if super tactical and fast.

This year I'm just learning but my goal is to get a top 10.

Looking at the cat 1-3 riders makes you realize that they are on another planet... But I love the excitement powering along in a peloton.
