Canon Hall, Cawthorne

A dull start but clearing late afternoon.   Warm and sunny.

A while since I have been blipping!   We have been to the Caravan at Scarborough and we have no internet there.   Now we have the decorator in and so are all upside down!   However, went to the Cinema yesterday - to see Yesterday - to get out of the way.   We thoroughly enjoyed this feel good film and of course the music.

Today a visit to Canon Hall, Cawthorne, Barnsley quite near to us.  A Georgian Mansion with lovely parkland and farm.   We had a lovely walk around, although not much by way of colour as the Walled gardens are under reconstruction.   But we enjoyed our picnic looking over the park towards the lake (one of the extras) plus icecream!   Other extras include the deer shelter, with supports from tree trunks, flower beds etc.

We went into the museum where there is an exhibition of Botanical Illustrations of Pears and Apples, featuring the work of Elisabeth Dowle.   Canon Hall has a famous Pear collection, however, not on show due to the works being undertaken.

A lovely relaxing day.
