Royal Papworth Hospital
A new appointment at Addenbrooke's hospital today. Across the road from the car park is the new Royal Papworth Hospital which was opened by the Queen last week. I say 'new' because of the building but Papworth (so named because it was sited at Papworth Everard) was first established as a 'colony' for tuberculosis in 1918. Subsequently, it became the UK's leading heart and lung transplant hospital. Fortunately, I'm not one of their patients.
