Black Redstart with Food

This morning we took the cable car at Espace Villard Corrençon  in the northern region of the Vercors.  Sitting for a while at a small shed used for the start of ski races in winter, we saw a pair of redstarts repeatedly flying back and forth around a small grove of evergreens. .They were nearly always carrying food, and this one perched very near the shed. It's  an immature, probably hatched this year. Yesterday I mentioned that a friend had fallen ill and been take by ambulance to a hospital in Grenoble. He stayed just four hours, returned home, and today took a taxi back to fetch his car and drive it back. We are very relieved!
