Desert Squirrel

Not quite a sunrise

We didn't stay up last night, but got up at 5.00 am this morning instead. The New Year's sunrise is something we've sought on a number of occasions when we've been home for the event, beginning in the pre-Millenium year of 2000.

The waning moon was shining through thin high cloud when we left to walk up the hill (on our usual before-breakfast jaunt, just a little earlier than normal). The sun didn't emerge until well after sunrise where we were this morning, but there was a little colour in the sky, caught by this little cloud.

Happy New Year, everyone.
