Sheer Bliss
After work tonight I took a short detour to my favorite marine park with the thought of catching the sunset as a fitting blip for both the end of the day and the end of the year.
In one of those serendipitous moments that seem to happen frequently to people looking for blips, I changed my mind when I met this fellow. His name is Tank and he visits the park frequently with his extremely loving and proud owner. When I asked if I could take Tank's picture the response was "if you can get him to sit still". Tank was one excited fellow and so friendly that I ended up with a number of blurred close-ups because I couldn't get him far enough away from the camera. When I got home and looked at the pictures I found this one which just struck me as the perfect portrait of one happy dog, basking in the last light of the day with his owner by his side. I decided it was better than any of the sunset pictures I had taken and was a much more fitting end to the day and the year.
Happy New Year to all my fellow blippers. May you all be as happy in 2013 as Tank was tonight.
