Ton Gilzean

This is Tom Gilzean alongside his iconic look alike statue, one of the collection of “Oor Wullie’ ones in aid of children’s hospitals dotted all over the Central Belt.

Tom has been a feature in Princes Street for many years rattling his can for children’s charities day in day out in all weathers. He is 99 now and although he has been in hospital recently he is back in his wheel chair beside his statue. He is not so vocal as he was, but is a mean can rattler and a great favourite with the passers by.
