The Secret Life of Words

A great evening out with my friend Janey at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff, to watch Countdown's Susie Dent talk about the secret life of words.  She was very funny, very informative and her enthusiasm for the English language and it's history shone through.  My take away was that the original name for intestines was arserope, we definitely need to bring that word back.

Not the best of days, work seems to think as I'm the only one that could do a specific job which needed to be done by Friday, that we can forget about the 2 day schedule agreed.  I was glad to get out in the evening and by the end of it, I had totally forgotten about the events of the day.
