Exuviae

Eight of them we reckon.
We were tidying up the pond today, it gets very overgrown by early summer and needs some of the plants cutting back.
Whilst we were working we collected eight dragonfly larva cases (exuvia). We have never seen them before although we have had dragonflies in the garden and over the pond for years. Last week I discovered a dragonfly in the pond with no wings in the right side. Could have been damaged when it emerged from the case.Must have been pretty dangerous for tiny fish if there were eight of these beasts prowling about.
