Well rooted
I was out with our local walking group on this sunny and very warm day. We were walking in the Sid valley starting in the picturesque village of Sidbury. It was described as a steep walk and lived up to its description. It started with a climb up to White Cross and along the ridge to Fire Beacon Hill. Along the way we came across this ancient tree lined wall / boundary with very impressive roots. We then descended to a nearby farm where we waited as some rather handsome young bullocks were steered past us up the lane. After lunch it was a steep climb to the top of Buckton Hill with an even steeper descent back into Sidbury.
It was a lovely but tiring walk on this hot day but with a welcome light breeze in places and some great panoramic views. A walk of about 8.5 miles
