Eclipsed

You'll get an idea of how hot it was on this morning's golf round and how badly I played if I tell you that, by the 16th tee, a pair of buzzards were circling overhead, waiting for me to give up the battle to hit the ball cleanly and straight and/or keel over.

Tonight we went to Yeovil's latest pre-season friendly against Championship team Swansea and were roundly beaten 6 -1. You begin to question the value of playing teams 3 leagues above you at this stage of the season as it's demoralising for players and fans to be outclassed like this, especially as they were obviously just warming up for the real challenges ahead; a more competitive game against a team closer to our standard would be a much better test.

Mind you it doesn't seem to stop me going to watch them more in hope than expectation - or turning up on the first tee for the next round of golf for that matter!
