Dawlish Warren
Colin was working today so Ann and I caught the bus to Dawlish Warren, the all singing, all dancing, all fun centre for camping, lodge and caravan holidays. There is a cafe in the car park near the bus stop where went for a morning drink, it is also doubles as a cycle sale/hire place, very interesting.
It was a fairly miserable day weather-wise but we managed a walk along the sea wall and into the Nature Reserve. The reserve was full of yellow flowers, Evening Primrose apparently, plus purple lavender like flowers, there were very few other walkers and we didn't see much wildlife, also the visitor centre was closed.
There were a couple of surfers in the waves, and two hardy swimmers on the beach. The fun fair had started up by the time we left.
After lunch we went to the Dawlish Museum. They are currently holding a childhood memories exhibition. In amongst the static collection was a cabinet of old cameras, including my very first, a Kodak 127, I still have some photos in an album taken on it (8 pictures per roll of film).
As it's Flower Friday, hosted by BikerBear, I'll post one of the lovely Evening Primrose flowers that brightened up a dull day.
Also thanks to Miranda1008 for hosting this week's Wildflower Week.
