Resolutions

I woke up with a heavy head this afternoon, my first thought being how much I'd appreciate some blackout blinds!

I saw 2013 in with some great people and it was such a fantastic night. I drank far too much, but at a steady pace... I think I behaved myself. I can't remember much of the first half of 2012 because nothing much happened. The latter half though was the best 6 months of my life to date. Being president of the American Studies Society is definitely a highlight and I look forward to continuing in that role until June. I also cemented a few really special friendships, most notably mine and Kathryn's, which is practically a marriage with no legal or sexual obligations. I got a new job that I love, working with people that I love. Most importantky I think is that 2012 is the year in which I figured out exactly who I am and what I want out of life.

My resolutions for this year are all about reaching academic goals. I have exams coming up this month and then 3 new modules that I'm really excited for. Then after the summer I'll be starting my 3rd year and my dissertation, as well as some really amazing literature modules. Bring it on!
