U.S.A Holiday - Day 4
If I thought that the beauty in nature that I saw yesterday could not be surpassed today was to prove me wrong.
In a career that took me around the world I thought I had seen some wonderful things but the Grand Canyon is simply breathtaking.
Having had breakfast we set off from our Jacobs Lake log cabin for the North Rim Of the Grand Canyon. We had only travelled a few miles when we came across a herd of buffalo, amazing sight.
Onwards and literally upwards until we reached 8490 feet!!
We stopped a every viewing point, Point Imperial, Vista Encantada, Roosevelt Point, Walhalla Overlook, Angels Window, and Cape Royal before heading to the Grand Canyon Lodge.
At this point we had a break for a late lunch, taken on a terrace with more magnificent views and I got to eat my first chilli dog.
We walked the Angels Window Hike, Janet and John going all the way out and me half way!!
Back to the lodge for a lazy hour or two before a pizza split between us for dinner and then moving on to a bench on the rim overlooking the canyon for the sunset.
Back to the lodge for our last night at the Grand Canyon National Park.
It’s been an unforgettable experience.
