New Year's Day Adventure

Lovely fresh day with some sunshine, so we decided to go for a short walk round the nearby fields to blow the cobwebs away. Simba, the cat, decided he wanted to come with us too, something he's never done before. We thought it was funny, so let him come along, sometimes leading the way and sometimes trailing behind.

All was going well until a young man approached us carrying what looked like a rifle over his shoulder. Simba took one look - and ran!! He disappeared into the bushes and wouldn't come when called. It turned out the young man was carrying a hunting bow, not a rifle, as he does target shooting and he helped us look for Simba, in vain.

The walk was aborted by the edge of this field and we returned home - to find Simba waiting for us in the garden! He obviously knew a short cut home:) Don't think we'll let him come with us next time we go for a walk!
