Magical mystery tour

London was in chaos. “A sports event” was happening so buses stopped at Hyde Park Corner, Holborn and Aldwych. Trying to get to Tate Modern was a challenge -even the helpful bus drivers weren’t sure where they were going to be re-routed to. But I loved the adventure.

I loved the exhibition even more. Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson has created a wonderful installation using a huge range of materials. Melt-water, fog, rainbows, shadows, moss, light and reflective metals.

Kids love it. They jump into the sparkling rainwater, the tunnels, and wriggle and marvel at the mirrored ceiling. It’s huge fun and so exciting.

I met a lady on the bus adventure later who had been with her six-year-old granddaughter who was thrilled. Her favourite was “Your uncertain shadow (colour)” where adults and children play with their shadow shapes against the colours.

To see this exhibition at its best, make sure you go at a weekend or in the school holidays. Don’t miss the magical fun.

All this - and Nemanja Radulovic at the Proms tonight.....
