Happy New Year!!

2014 will be an important year for Scotland.......oops..I'm a year too early..Welcome to 2013.

After a 4 mile run in the morning a 6 mile walk this afternoon took me past Bannockburn, which will indeed play a very important and special role in 2014 as Scotland celebrates the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn and the once in a generation or even lifetime vote on Independence.

The battlefield (well the heritage centre) area is currently a building site with a new heritage centre under construction and the refurbishment of the rotunda and the Bruce Statue which is under the tarpaulin in the photograph. Also in the photograph on the right hand side you can see Stirling Castle in the distance.
