I had the pleasure of ringing in the new year out on the meadows in Edinburgh; complete with this spontaneous lone piper getting everyone in the spirit. It's true that a Scottish new year has a completely different feel to that of one down south, and yet again I'm delighted that I chose to spend it in Edinburgh with LB.

Home cooked chilli at a friends house, drinking Jenga with Gold Olympians and Sandhurst grads, and impromptu ceilidh dancing in the mud - happy 2013 everyone!
