Wine decanting machine

Today's the day ………………………… to stay in

I haven't put a foot outside this house today.

It was mainly because it wasn't very nice weather out there for most of the day - but quite a lot to do with a big Sunday Lunch, followed by a very exciting Stage 15 of the Tour de France  cycle race.  In fact, with all that excitement, I feel quite exhausted.  Although drinking wine in the middle of the day often has the same effect.

It was rather a nice bottle of red which Will thought might have a bit of sediment in it.  Time to get out the wine-decanting machine that belonged to my Dad, who was a great lover of fine red wine.  He had got a friend of his to make it - and it is a finely-crafted, precision bit of engineering.  By winding the handle, it slowly tips up the bottle until it gets to the precise point where any sediment present is trapped but the wine can still flow out.

It works a treat ……………………..
