Open Champion

Huge congratulations to Shane Lowry, winner of the 148th Open championship at Royal Portrush!
We've been out for Sunday lunch with my brother and his family, so we have watched the highlights of today's play - and marvelled at the weather, because we were in Ballyclare, also in County Antrim, and it was tipping it down all day, whereas in Portrush it seemed to be mostly dry with some heavy showers!
It's been great to watch some of the golf - and to see the North Antrim coast so beautifully presented. I can't imagine the logistics involved in putting on such a huge event, it's simply mind boggling, but everything appears to have gone off without a hitch, so a fabulous job by all involved.
