Sundridge in the summer
Drove over to Sundridge for the weekend to see Mrs. Ottawacker's father, who is still going strong at 93 (that isn't him jumping into the lake, though). It has been so hot in Ontario - temperatures reaching 41 with Humidex - and any hopes of having a cooling lakeside effect disappeared within seconds of arrival.
Mrs Ottawacker and Ottawacker Jr spent long periods of time in the water, which was probably only just cooler than the ambient air outside.
And, of course, you can duck under to avoid the horseflies, black flies, and mosquitoes. Which you can't on land.
