painted by my grandmother

This is a detail (about 12") from a 4 ' painting of roses on brown paper done by my grandmother aged 18 or 19..  Her father was quite a well known New Forest painter (Constable style) who provided for his family with his art, but he died when Granny was 19  so she shut her paintbox and had to go off and become a governess, never to open her paintbox again - so sad
