Al Barsha Park on New Years Day
Oscar and Bailee were both up very early today. I somehow managed to get up last night to view the fireworks from our balcony. Stu, my mum and dad made it to the beach across the road to see the displays from Atlantis, Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa. They were spectacular!! My sister rang at 3am not realising the time here and Oscar woke at 4 with a nightmare. So today I was a bit weary, thank god for coffee!
There was a lot of screaming this morning. Upon further investigation I discovered Oscar and Bailee having a proper scrap over 'the dinosaur sling'. We got them mini baby doll slings for Christmas, just like the one I carry Maple in. They both want the dinosaur one (Not the elephant). In the end they went to bed early and had a good sleep. That meant we had a whole afternoon to spend together. Al Barsha Park it was! Today's picture is of me and my three in beside our new car :-) It has 8 seats and is proving to be a fantastic car for us.
There are huge play areas on the sand and a lovely lake to look at and grassed areas. Bailee made a friend, had so much fun on the swings and slide and climbing. She is quite brave and claimed that one of the slides was "Too little".
Oscar had a blast running around. He was a nit scared of the swing for some strange reason..... he seems to be a bit more cautious after falling off his bike a few weeks ago. After that we went to the local mall and got a few groceries and Granny and Grandad bought some delicious chocolates after being given samples to try! Grandad had promised Oscar an icecream that morning if he went to sleep without a fuss. When we got to the car to load up the groceries, his lip suddenly began to quiver and he got very upset about "ice-cream". I had almost forgotten. My dad asked me in the supermarket if he should buy them the icecream and I stupidly thought they would have forgotten and said it was too close to tea time! I can't believe how Oscar had remembered all day and hadn't mentioned it at the mall, but had just been waiting for it. When we got to the car he realised it wasn't coming and got upset! We decided to honour our promise and Grandad went back to get them a little tub of strawberry ice-cream. We sat down by the fountain so that they could eat them and Oscar especially savoured every spoonful and didn't leave a drop behind!
Maple has been moving up the bed the last few days, She is almost crawling! All that needs to happen is for her to lift her tummy off the ground! She seems totally addicted to the sling these days.... she has been quite unsettled the last 10 days or so and the only thing that calms her is the sling. She falls asleep in it within a minute! It is all dribbly and gross as I haven't dared wash it since she was born and at home with us as she loves being in it so much!!!!
