La Lonja

The late Fifteenth Century Silk Exchange in Valencia; basically a proper temple to Mammon amongst all those fine Renaissance churches. That said, it's got the same peaceful, contemplative atmosphere. Ideal for chilling out for a bit after the train trip from Barcelona, even if we had upgraded to the wide, comfortable seats of First Class. And later on, after much wandering and a bit of a siesta, we had a proper Spanish late night (well, we were out past midnight, at least): the inevitable paella, followed by some wonderful, all-female flamenco in a very atmospheric club called the Radio City...
