Cool Half Pint

Went for a looooong walk today, since I didn't have to drag a reluctant ten year old with me (she has been dispatched to Granny's with cousins). It was almost entirely through the woods, a leafy, shady walk around Dalkeith, which was essential in today's heat. I did pause for refreshment at the Sun Inn, it has a wee balcony overlooking the Esk.
The rest of the afternoon was spent reading in and pottering in the garden. My new book is great, Normal People by Sally Rooney. She has such a lovely, easy writing style. I read 100 pages without even realising.
