Foodland

Today we finally visited the award winning superstore near us called Foodland Pasadena. The supermarket is enormous in size and diversity. It has won awards such as Store of the Year and best Supermarket in Australia. This is quite amazing for a store in suburban Adelaide.

It is hard to describe the range of products available.  From spices and nuts and Asian food to European food to every type of food grown locally as well as interstate in the tropics.

I chose a wider angle view from the fruit and veg section. The store has specialist shops or boutique counters within the store with smallgoods, fish, cheese, bakery goods and so on. Plus several restaurants. It was simply outstanding. I had a wonderful fish dish in the restaurant. The meal was complete with a pianist playing a few metres from our table!

The store is a cross between what you know as a normal supermarket with Whole Foods (USA), Harrods Food Hall in the UK, and a souk in Dubai. I feel sure that I will be showing more scenes from this destination store in the weeks ahead.
