Tower this is Shelduck requesting flyby.........

It was a hard call to go with our little Top Gun pilot here or the heron spotted in the reedbed from the Zeiss Hide at Slimbridge Wildlife and Westlands Trust this afternoon! He spent a lot of time with his head under his wing and who could blame him for that in this weather.

Maverick the Shelduck on the other hand was buzzing the Tower, didn't crash and burn so much as dash and splash into the lake, "It takes a lot more than fancy flying" .... "Gutsiest move I ever saw."



"I'll hit the brakes, he'll fly right by........" which is exactly what happened!
