Linlithgow
Our church's informal 'Daytrippers' group (aka have bus pass will travel) visited Linlithgow today. Our intended destination was the Linlithgow Canal Centre, but as it didn't open until 1.30pm we settled for a coffee / lunch stop beforehand.
Once up at the Canal Centre, we took a short 'Town Cruise' on the Union Canal (pictured). It was only about 30 minutes in duration, but most enjoyable nonetheless. (Longer canal trips are operated at weekends.) Afterwards we popped into the wee Canal Museum and then the tearoom, where ice-cream was very welcome.
The whole operation of the Linlithgow Union Canal Society is run by volunteers and is well worth a visit.
