This is Felix very excited to be up past midnight.


As predicted, he was confused to discover that his Hogmanay consisted of counting down from ten, jumping about a bit then singing Auld Lang Syne with his mother.

He did enjoy those few minutes and entered into the spirit of things. He had a wee cup of chocolate milk and I had some Rubicon to toast the year. Many 'Slainte's were proclaimed and the cups were clinked.
However, when I told him it was time for bed a short while later, he couldn't believe that was it all over. I'm not sure what he was expecting to happen at midnight, but it wasn't that.
I couldn't help laughing at his bewildered expression. I don't know if he'll be bothered about staying up for New Year for a while.

He didn't awaken until nearly 12pm today and I doubt he's going to sleep early tonight. Getting up at 7am tomorrow will be the only remedy :(
Still, we had fun.
