Wightwick Manor
Another very hot day today. We decided to visit NT Wightwick Manor, near Wolverhampton. It was built in the style of early English country estate houses by the wealthy paint manufacturer Theodore Mander in 1887.
The furnishing for the house are by William Morris and a Pre-Raphaelite art collection was started by the Mander family and the National Trust in 1937. The old Malthouse on the estate is now an art gallery, and as part of a ten year partnership, they are displaying works from the De Morgan Collection. A very interesting property to visit.
This evening we are visiting the Smethwick Photographic Society, at the invitation of hildasrose.
Thank you for dropping by :-)
