Little Soap Company's voice in parliament.

Today the Business, Innovation and Skills Committee held it's fifth further evidence session in its inquiry into Women in the Workplace at the Houses of Parliament. Witnesses to the inquiry included one of my favourite entrepreneurs Hilary Devey who is CEO of Pal-Ex and more well known as being one of the dragons on BBCs Dragons Den and the lawyer (and one of my other heroines) Dr Margaret Mountford who of course shot to fame as Lord Sugar's closest advisor on The Apprentice.

I had been invited as a witness with my "countrypreneur" hat on. With a background working closely with Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE), Young Enterprise and founding various rural networks including the Gloucestershire Media Group, and under the South West Design Forum the Gloucestershire Design Network and WiRE North Cotswolds. Basically, I was there representing women in rural SMEs and business...

I believe I put forward everything I had planned... It was such a priviledge to be asked and trip down the corridors in my heels and bang the rural drum for us ladies in the sticks who are sucessful outside of London. Also to meet Claire Martinsen (left) founder of Breckland Orchard posh pops. We had to do a sneaky cheesy pic from the courtyard - it'd have be wrong not to!
