Syrian Brunch in the Afternoon

Record-breaking heat today - 101F/38.33C!!

I went to visit one of my Syrian friends with another Syrian friend. We had a lovely time. As always, there was food involved! First we had crepes and fruit. Then later we had “breakfast”. I taught them the word “brunch” as they said it was closer to lunch time. (They often call a meal at 5pm “lunch”!). This was the spread! So healthy and tasty and pretty. I’ve heard this before, but they told me there is an Arabic saying that is something like “you eat with the eyes first.” It was certainly true today!
