Second blooming

This rose bush in our back garden had no flowers for a while, and now has a second blooming though the flowers are a bit smaller.

We had a nice shared lunch with our friends at home group today - lots of salad and meats, quiche etc. I had been asked to bring ‘something naughty’ to eat, so I made a peach trifle with custard and cream to go with it. We also had healthy fruit salad! One lady who was there had lived in South Africa most of her life (farming) and was so delighted to have really hot weather today that reminded her of ‘home’. I don’t know what the temperature was outdoors, but our house thermometer said 27.5 centigrade indoors, so must have been much hotter in the sun, but certainly not as hot as London and Cambridge anyway!
