Al Fresco
For the last three evenings we have eaten outside. We don’t do that very often.
Today has we think been the hottest day here since August 9th 2003 when we attended a wedding in Liverpool ( it was heavy rain here on the 10th, although nationally the highest ever temperature was then recorded at Heathrow).
Interesting sky this evening. We sat down and I took this shot. Then 1 minute of a quick shower, and we went indoors, and once it stopped we headed back out. Eat our meal and then had to retreat in with another very short shower. And then another.
Yesterday evening our ants decided to fly en- masse, and we were treated to lots of swifts and martins, then more cumbersome gulls trying to snatch the flying ants, and finally a flock of starlings doing the same.
The ISS has also been heading over this week. It is due for 6 minutes this evening (two hours hence) starting at 10.43pm, so I’ve set the alarm.
After days inside working, an evening outside is good. The al fresco life.
