Alien invasion of Edinburgh #blogmanay

This afternoon's entertainment for the end of the Hogmanay (New Year) celebrations in Edinburgh promised a whole festival in one afternoon.

As we'd been up at the street party till late last night, then over to neighbours at noon today, I was flagging a bit and undecided on whether to go.

So glad that we did! The entertainment was like nothing I've ever seen before. Billed as the Big Bang, a series of giant inflatables and lighting effects, coupled with electronic music took us from the dawn of time to the creation of the earth. It was magical. Pete Irvine and his colleagues are to be congratulated for bringing a surprise end to the celebrations, and one which the whole family could enjoy. Unfortunately our two wouldn't leave the house, so they missed out.
