Gertrude Jekyll
It's a strange name for a rose, but this bush has proved remarkably hardy. Early this year we decided that it was in the wrong position, so I dug it up and moved it. However, the roots were quite badly damaged in the process and for a couple of weeks the bush looked very sick: the buds on it withered and died, and some of the branches looked very brown and droopy,
However, I have been watering it regularly (until we went down to Cornwall last Thursday) and, when we came back yesterday, we were rewarded with this lovely bloom, and there are several more on the way.
So glad that it has survived my rough treatment.
