Iris inspiration

These Iris have been a bit neglected this year. They have soldiered on with no stakes to support them through spells of wind and heavy rain. I love their bold colour and the complex formation of their petals. They gladden my heart every time I walk past them.

Today was one of those days when the length of the 'jobs to be completed' list is optimistically long and has to be pared down as the hours go by. Going out to tea and tap lesson both had to be shelved. As it was I just had time to eat, throw a few things in a bag and get into town to catch the overnight ferry to Shetland.
