Tuesday 1 January 2013: A lovely start to the year
The day started with a very rare, but much appreciated lie-in. Hubby, A and I headed to town, as it turned out, two hours earlier than most of the shops open on New Year's Day. Consequently there were not many other people about, apart from other parents with babies and toddlers, keen bargain hunters and the odd New Year's party-goer making their way home. We mainly had the place to ourselves and A loved the space and freedom to run around on his new reins.
We had a lovely late breakfast together, with A feeding himself with very little help from Mum and Dad. His t-shirt (courtesy of Auntie L) bore the brunt of his enjoyment of baked beans and scrambled eggs.
As A is beginning to show signs for wanting out of nappies we invested in a potty, which he has taken to really well. He is using it as a seat at the moment, but small steps...
We ended the day watching "Up" (I may have cried a little) and eating last night's curry.
A really happy, stress-free day spent with my lovely family - a great way to start the year.
