Joyce and Roger

Today saw the retirement of my former colleague Joyce and imminent retirement of Roger. Joyce and I were interviewed on the same day, 31 August 2003. We were both appointed to the role of Staff Tutor (a position that only exists at the OU) and started work some weeks later. Roger was already in post as an Associate Lecturer and Assistant Staff Tutor and joined us as a Staff Tutor a few years later. We worked bl**dy hard, were all fortunate to be rewarded with promotion, and what a lot of fun and adventures we had too. It was so lovely to be invited to join them with three other colleagues for lunch in Edinburgh today. Here are Joyce and Roger having a wee cheers. Their formal dos are over and this was a really nice relaxed lunch. I hope they enjoy their well deserved retirements.
