Gender Bending Fashion
We ventured out into the heat of the city today and visited the Museum of Fine Arts to see their "Gender Bending Fashion" exhibit before it closes in August. We also checked out the new museum restaurant, 465, which replaces the old Bravo eatery. Lunch was very tasty!
The outfit on the left above is by Italian designer Alessandro Trincone. According to the exhibition catalogue, it is "elegant, ethereal, and ruffled, the dress would, to most, be considered typically 'feminine.' It was, however designed for a man." The rapper Young Thug chose to wear it on the cover of his 2016 album No, My Name is Jeffery.
The suit on the right is by Victor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren for Viktor&Rolf, and was featured in their 2003-04 "One Woman Show" collection. Try as I might, I just don't think this is the outfit to wear when hanging paintings, brushing one's teeth, or hanging from the monkey bars in the playground!
