friday night at the movies....

4 years ago, i discovered something called Kickstarter.

I clicked on and looked through different things, and found a project which was set up by two young lads from my home town.  They had started to make a film, but hadn't the funds to complete it, so they turned to Kickstarter.

We donated a sum (not a lot) ... and sat back and waited.  Progress seemed slow, and i was beginnig to think that it wasn't going to happen.

Then last week, I got an email saying "we are having a showing of the film in Glasgow".

It's already been to Film Festivals in LA, and London and other places, and WON AWARDS

We arrived at the Centre for Contemporary arts tonight and met the two lads...  and took our seats.

It's hard to believe that they started this project 5 years ago.  The little 10 year old boy in the film was sitting next to me -he's 15 now.  And giggled hopelessly every time he spoke on camera.

It was a great night- something different, and it was lovely to see "Cruse Family" included in the credits at the end.

Afterwards, we had a lovely walk down Sauchiehall Street - somewhere we haven't been in years.  It's slowly coming back to life after the fires in The School of Art, and Victorias, but some bits of it are still horrific.

A lovely night!
