The day the rain came

We ventured off to Martina Franca to catch the market. I do so love a market (see extras).  I refrained from buying more coffee pots (such restraint!) but couldn’t resist a fan to help with the heat.

In the afternoon the clouds started to gather. That was novel in itself as we hadn’t seen one in over two weeks. Tim has a fabulous description and photograph here.

I do so love a good thunderstorm and this one didn’t disappoint. It did, however, go on for a bit and nearly jeopardised our plans for a meal out at Ceglie’s best restaurant. We, however, are plucky and doughty! Thanks to Tim we made it into town safely and had a fabulous meal with great service. Truly a night to remember!
