Who's A Clever Girl?

After several weeks of nest building, using a variety of cardboard boxes, Lucy has today laid the first egg of this current batch. I knew something was happening as she has hidden away from prying eyes for 24 hours.
The eggs are not fertile but I leave them in the cage until she loses interest, usually after a couple of days. However, if this heat wave continues I will have to take it away tonight. In the meanwhile she is fiercely protective and I have to make sure that Jorgie's inquisitiveness doesn't lead to bloodshed.
In the pursuit of a decent photo I have risked life and limb, or should that be camera and digit ?
