Emperor

Clinging on to a grass stalk this Emperor Dragonfly was ovipositing in a small pond up on the hill just below the water's surface. 

I think because of their size they are more dominant and chase away intruders from their territory vigorously.They catch and eat prey on the wing which accounts for the constant patrolling over the water.
