Doune castle

We have visited Doune castle many times over the years and even been to a wedding there.
 
But it has always been with visitors and there has never been enough time to simply wander around and soak up the atmosphere of this 14thcentury medieval castle on the outskirts of Doune. ( see extra)
 
 
So this afternoon we became a tourist in our (adopted) home country along with people from the Far East, America and Europe.
 
For this castle enjoys an international reputation as the setting for  films and television series including Monty Python, Outlander and Game of Thrones.
